Which Massage to Choose in Paris 17
Our Signature Treatments
Tui Na, Thai oil massage, foot reflexology, hammam: nine treatments, and no obvious way to tell them apart if you have never had one. Each name below opens to show how the session runs, how long it lasts and what to expect from it.
Every massage is given in a private room, on a heated table, with warm oil, on your own or as a couple, and sessions run from one hour to two hours. Prices are on the prices and services page, and the private hammam is booked with a one-hour massage included, from 100 euros.
-
Two formats, on your own or as a couple.
Hammam and massage, 1 hour 30: thirty minutes of private hammam, then a one-hour massage on a heated table.
Hammam, body scrub and massage, 2 hours: the same session, with thirty minutes of black soap scrub in between.
The hammam is private, just for you or for two. The warm, eucalyptus-scented steam relaxes you and prepares the skin. The scrub is done with a kessa glove and leaves the skin soft. The session ends with the massage of your choice: Anti-Stress Relaxation, Tui Na or Relaxing Thai Oil.
Shower time is included in the session. Bathrobe and towels provided.
-
A full-body massage with warm oil, on a heated table. Slow, enveloping strokes and gentle to moderate pressure: a massage designed entirely around relaxation.
If you are not sure what to book, book this one: it is our default choice and the one we recommend for a first visit. Pressure is set with you at the start of the session.
For firmer work on tension, see Tui Na.
-
A dynamic, deep tissue massage over the whole body, focusing on the areas where you feel tension. Its name comes from two movements: tui, to push, and na, to grasp. The technique has been practised in China for centuries.
The one to choose if you want firm work rather than pure relaxation: knotted muscles, a stiff back after long days at a desk or a long flight. The intensity is set with you at the start of the session and can be adjusted at any time.
If what you mainly want is to let go, choose the Anti-Stress Relaxation Massage instead.
-
Thai massage in its oil version: on a heated table, with warm oil, not the dry floor version done in loose clothing. It combines pressure and gentle stretches, for a more energising massage than the Anti-Stress Relaxation.
The one to choose if you enjoy feeling your body stretch and loosen, and want to leave both relaxed and energised. Pressure and the range of the stretches are set with you at the start of the session.
-
A session devoted to the back, shoulders and neck, with warm oil, on a heated table. Enveloping strokes and gentle pressure, focused on the areas you point out at the start of the session.
The one to choose if the tension is in one place and you do not want a full-body massage.
-
A massage of the feet alone, with precise, slow and steady pressure. A foot massage, not a medical treatment. Many people fall asleep.
The one to choose if you would rather not undress, or if you have been on your feet all day. Pressure is set with you at the start of the session. For a full-body massage, see the Anti-Stress Relaxation Massage.
-
An oil massage adapted to pregnancy. Gentle strokes, light pressure, and the areas worked chosen with you.
You lie on your side, supported by cushions. A gentle moment.
-
Slow, enveloping pressure over the whole body, to ease the feeling of heaviness. It leaves a sense of lightness and comfort. Pressure is set with you at the start of the session.
Please note: this is not a slimming treatment and does not include mechanical roller massage (palper-rouler).
-
A firm, toning body-contouring treatment, worked deeply from the arms to the ankles, focusing on the stomach, waist, hips, glutes and thighs, where orange-peel skin tends to settle. Sustained manual work that helps smooth the look of the skin and leaves the body feeling light and toned.
It is a treatment best taken as a series: many of our clients book several sessions close together. Pressure is set with you at the start of the session.
For a gentler treatment, see the Lightness Ritual.
-
Two therapists, one massage: four hands working together, at the same time, over the whole body. With warm oil, on a heated table, with enveloping strokes and gentle pressure.
The one to choose for relaxation out of the ordinary, or as a gift. Pressure is set with you at the start of the session.
